The Avid Reader truly made my day, week, or even year. I pre-ordered Iron Flame on Amazon months ago and when release day came and they delayed my order indefinitely I was heartbroken. That’s when I called the Avid Reader. The kind lady I spoke to on the phone totally understood my panicked state, my hundreds of questions, and answered them gracefully even when I repeated myself. She was able to reassure me they did have some copies left, even the special edition one I had been wanting. Not only that but the person who rang up my book was super understanding and made me feel so much better about this whole experience. They even gave me a goodie bag with stickers, a bookmark, and a temporary tattoo pack! I know the next time I need a book I’m choosing them! The incredible customer service filled with kindness and understanding has made me a loyal Avid Reader customer!

There isn’t a better place to shop for everyone! Little gifts, souvenirs, planners, stickers, Knick-knacks, this place has it all! I love that it is an INDEPENDENT bookstore and they have a fine selection of children’s literature. I absolutely adore this store.

Lovely little bookstore in downtown Davis. It's so organized, and the selection is incredible. My favorite aspect of visiting is getting a Blind Date with a Book, and I'm always so excited to find out what it is. It's also a perfect place to pick up gifts like candles, stickers, and other novelty items as well.

I love Avid! I've been living in Davis for about five years now and Avid is always my first place to go when I want to buy a book. The staff members are always helpful and I enjoy their rewards program.

I wanted to leave a wonderful review for Jina because she was absolutely amazing and incredibly kind. I had a lot of questions and needed help finding several books, and she went out of her way to help me with so much patience and warmth. She never made me feel rushed or like I was bothering her. Instead, she was thoughtful, helpful, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout the entire interaction. Exceptional customer service is rare, and Jina truly went above and beyond. She made what could have been a stressful or overwhelming experience feel easy and comfortable simply because of how kind and supportive she was. People like Jina make a lasting impression, and I just wanted to say how deeply appreciated her kindness and professionalism were. Thank you again, Jina!
